Project description

From June 2020 to September 2022, the NCIT organised the interpreting of the online events, the Miracle and Healing Evenings of the IAHM. The events were held in English and interpreted into up to 9 languages: Arabic, German, French, Hindi, Mandarin, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian and Spanish.

One season included 9 online events, starting in September and ending in June, and a four-day conference in May. The events and their interpretations were broadcast live on YouTube and Facebook. In the season 2021-2022, the interpreter team was composed of 23 volunteers. In their languages, they achieved more than 12,000 views on YouTube. In the season 2020-2021, the interpreter team was composed of 25 volunteers and they achieved more than 20,000 views on YouTube in their languages.

Project management

The NCIT's tasks included: recruitment; introduction to technology, the digital workspace and collaboration; personal support; team building; monthly plannings; gathering feedback, process adjustments, and other typical project management tasks.

Resources

The following resources were generated during this project:

  • An e-mail template to sensitize the speakers to work effectively with the interpreters.
  • A online by Cédric Trachsel with the technical-informatic solution for remote interpreting.
  • A directory for the interpreters where they can find the main information about the speakers invited to these events (and others).

Season – 2021 – 2022

The Network of Christian Interpreters and Translators (NCIT) manages diverse interpreting and translation projects in the Christian arena, such as the simultaneous interpreting of online events for the International Association of Healing Ministries (IAHM) from English into eight languages. These events are held online from September to June, plus a four-day conference in May, and are broadcast on YouTube. The interpreted broadcasts have generated together more than 12,000 views overall.

IAHM’s monthly events 2021-2022 were interpreted by a team of 23 volunteers. Whenever possible, interpreters worked in two-person teams, both to provide relief and to ensure high-level concentration was maintained throughout each event.
